Based on recent history,  Lin will stretch out this hot play to 11 games max... then fall off the face of the earth with his ceiling being Taiwanese American Flip Murray.

So if I wasn't aware of this 11 game potential, I'd make some snarky comment about how he'll throw up a major stinker tonight.  Odds still leaning towards massive stinker, though.

I love how people jump on the bandwagon quickly..........

Even though this is not remotely realistic of a trade, because the Knicks wouldn't ever give up Lin for Rondo, it's pretty apparent that Lin is a better player than Rondo is. He just flat out is.

I mean, people can be in deniable about it if they want. This has nothing to do with the large number of points that Lin has been getting. Just watch the way he plays, the way he penetrates and finishes, watch the way he runs the offense. He's a whole lot more careful than Rondo is. He's a much superior help defender. He's a better finisher, possibly an equally or slightly less talented passer, a far better free throw shooter, he actually has the ability to knock down the mid-range and 3 point shot to keep defenses honest.

Who are people kidding when they claim that Rondo is better than this kid? I mean, I understand, people are emotionally attached, and I don't blame them for being emotionally attached. Rondo is a great, great player. He has a ton of heart, but don't dare say he's better than Jeremey Lin because the performances that Lin has put out the last 4 games, even if the points aspect of his stats aren't numbers that he can maintain every single game for the rest of this season, Rondo on his best days couldn't hope to consistently, game after game, put up points numbers half as impressive as what Lin has been doing while doing all the other things that he does for that team.

I love Rondo, but don't dare tell me that he can, on an all around basis, play better than what Lin has done in these past 4 games. He's a legitimate offensive weapon for his team. We are amazed when Rondo manages 12-15 points, much less 18 and above. Lin is no fluke. There will be games where the shots don't drop, but he knows what the hell he's doing on that court, and is pretty careful about it. He's not as careless as Rondo is. He plays under much more control.

There are two ways to handle the inevitable; Try unsuccesfuly to keep the hope alive that we have 1, or 2, or 3 runs left in the legs of our "walking wounded senior citizens". (I say this cause some fans still honestly believe that since 2009, there is still 1 more run) To do this we obviously go to get in the trading mode to get the players necessary to have this one last run. The problem is we do not have the trading pieces to achieve that run. Too late for that now.If we trade any of our Big 3, we are not getting more value for them. If we keep the same value after the trade(s), we are not much better, right. So, in my humble opinion, trading during this season is not going to do it for this season. And apparently, the "diehards" in here still want it for this season. NOW!

The other way is to start rebuilding after this season, in the best possible way. Most free agents will probably shun us cause the very beat FA still want to play for a contender. The 2008 miracle wont be as easy to achieve as the next one.  Look how Miami failed the first tie to achieve their fisrt miracle.

We might have to get a third team involved to make salaries work, but I like this.  We get a point guard who can score, and we save a ton of money to go after free agents.

The Knicks get the point guard they need, and the Celtics start over with a younger, cheaper point guard who can consistently put up big numbers.

Consistently? He's had 2 good WEEKS! Not even years! No way.
I don't believe Lin is an all star yet. I need him to get to at least 3 weeks

Look, I love Lin and what he's doing, but let's not get carried away.

as much as I support and like Lin...he hasn't proved himself in playoffs yet...not to mention his production when Amar'e and Carmelo comes back from injuries...

though Rondo is a little bit hard-headed and make bad decisions, he is still our guy...

So this is a joke?  Why would you pull a knee jerk trade like moving an all star pg for a guy who was cut by the Warriors last season?

I know Jeremy Lin is amazing.  Trust me I love the guy, but he is not elite. Not yet. He has beaten up on terrible teams and the Lakers a team with no real pg.

If Lin averages 20 a game with 7 assists for the rest of the season, MAYBE, MAYBE I would consider moving Rondo for Lin and another piece.

Plus there is no way the Celtics will trade a franchise player to the effing Knicks...they are in the same division.

I would bet a whole lot of money that when the Celtics play the Knicks Rondo eats Lin up on defense and blows by the guy on offense as if he was stuck in mud.  But that is just my opinion.
