+LA sends their 1rd pick to Orlando

Clippers view:
- Mo isn't need as they have 3 reliable PGs already
- Hedo can save them in the SF postition(Caron isn't that reliable)

Lakers view:
- Dwight Howard. Period.
- Bynum has nothing on Dwight

Celtics view:
- Rondo isn't needed since we need a scoring PG. Why? Look at our team statistically in the last 'Rondo-less' wins.
- Dooling is our worst offseason pick-up. IMO Even more than Sasha, Sasha at least showed up in the season more than once.
- Mo brings our PG needs
- Barnes increases our depth behind Pierce and Ray, also good veteran D-Fence
- Gomes will be trade bait(will mention later)

Magic view:
- Gets rid of trading block pests (Hedo and Dwight)
- They would trade Arenas after this deal for a SF
- Would send Nelson to the 6th man role
- Bynum+Rondo=Back to the playoff race
- Another 2012 pick for the future
-----------------------
Then,
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6uu6tep

No need to explain for this trade. Final line-up:
PG Williams/Moore
SG Allen/Pietrus
SF Pierce/Barnes/Sasha
PF Garnett/[vet min]
C  Kaman/[vet min,Joey Pryz?]/Stiemsma

2013 line up assumption:
PG Williams/Clippers pick/Moore
SG Allen/Pietrus/Gilbert Brown
SF Green/Pierce(6MOTY)/Stephane Lasme
PF Garnett/Big Free Agent
C  Kaman/Celtics pick/Micheal Sweetney
-----------------------------
And IF Kaman doesn't agree on the 2nd trade, then:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7kwjweg

and we keep JO...
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.

PAUL PIERCE, NO!

So basically we give up Rondo so that the Lakers can get Dwight. Perfect.

Is this thread meant to be ironic?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I am not going to say that I have never mentioned Rondo in trad possibilities (top 5 pick, young 'star' player still on their rookie contract - anything to open up as much roster space as possible for next year (or the year after), while still getting a great return for building our future.

However, this is the kind of trade that would be totally detrimental to what we are trying to do in Boston. Mo Williams and Matt Barnes?? I know Mo has been decent, but Rondo is way way way out of these guys' league.

I appreciate the creativity of a four team trade, but I would definitely have to pass on this one.

  • Rondo = Good
Yikes.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

I apologize in advance for piling on, but this can't be overlooked...

The Clippers would be giving up Mo Williams and Ryan Gomes for the privilege of taking on Hedo Turkoglu and his ridiculously bad contract, with the added benefit of facilitating a trade where the Lakers get Howard for Bynum practically straight up! Did I stumble onto a Lakers forum by mistake?
