I thought it was a solid trade at the time. Nate robinson had potential to be a better eddie house, more athletic and better defender.

problem is Nate never was able to buy into the celtics "ball movement" philosophy..and being a streaky shooter we were subject to nights where he would jack up low percentage 3's

I get that Nate never bought into the ball-movement philosophy, but I think that he bought into the Celtics philosophy, which made him fairly valuable when he was here. The year after he was gone the Celtics had nobody in their second unit who would take a shot other than Big Baby.

I did, however, like Eddie while he was here and he was that spark we needed during our 'magical' year.

I remember Doc talking about wanting Nate to be more aggressive and saying that Nate was tentative because he thought he needed to be something he isn't due to the system.

The problem is that guys like Nate are feast or famine, similar to Ben Gordon and his ilk. He looks good on paper to have an explosive guy on the bench until it costs you a few games.

I think that's going to be true of any player that has been proposed on this forum as a guy the Celtics should acquire as a scorer of the bench who can create his own shot.

I agree. That might be why we see what we see on the court. We go conservative when acquiring guys. House was almost one of those feast or famine guys, but he was limited to catch and shoot. With such a limited role, his shooting was almost always what was necessary at that moment in the flow of the offense.

There are aggressive guys who are also efficient, but there are also plenty who aren't. I like Jason Terry.

It is easy to overvalue someone like Ben Gordon because you remember the feasts, even if he brings a net loss to the team.
