  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Honestly, Brooks can score really well but I think he ends up being Ricky Davis redux.
Nah not as athletic rebounds better defends better and has a better shot selection and not as much of an attitude. Brooks looks like a natural right now but I wanna see Jujuan get more time to see wat he can do cuz rite now it looks like Danny blew it

You're short selling Ricky Davis's Cleveland years hard right there. The man can create rebounds.
Nah on the low Ricky was one of my favorite players he averaged 20 5 and 5 in Cleveland 1 year he was  good but Brooks will prolly have a better career

I really think JJJ has what it takes.  I have visions of him starting next to Dwight Howard (not a big Howard fan but let's face facts he numero uno by leaps and bounds).  I'm not worried about the pick long term.

However, I think that Marshon could have done much more for us THIS year.  I think he would have shown enough, even in practice, to get court time.  Then he would he would have done some scoring for us....It might even have led to a trade of Ray Allen at the deadline for a defenive center and a pick, not because Brooks is better than Allen, but because we're old and we can only afford to have so many elders on the court at one time.  Multiple elders is starting to = problem.
There's a point at which energy and physicality begins to outweigh savvy and experience.

Plus, Brooks could have been a trade chip too if we let him loose just a few times....

Again, not worried long term...JJJ's gonna make it.

And, regarding the multiple elder issue, it's why I think our big three have more trade value as individual players than many on this site feel.  It's getting harder for our big 3 to coexist despite their intelligence, experience and chemistry,  But stick any of them in the midst of talented, energetic youngsters, and they can still be major cogs on the court, not to mention off.  Oklahoma, Memphis, Atlanta, Indiana, Chicago, Denver, Portland, etc etc....These are teams that can take full advantage of our aged stars and not suffer so much from the aged part....

Bottom line:  Six old legs is hard.  Two old legs is nothing to worry about

I do think, however, that the big 3 would make an excellent, cumulative bench.

I was really hoping this was a thread about Mel's great acting career and not Marshon.

The kids a rookie and he has the green light.  I'll reserve any praise or criticism until I see that he is more than another Derozen or Kevin Martin.  It takes a special player and alot of women to be a Kobe.

+1 about Kobe...,Also,

I was hoping that this thread was about something constructive like Aaron Brooks as someone helping us at backup/insurance as a point guard.

I know Brooks cant come back to the NBA from China until March, but I was hoping something was up about him.

This is another "if only such and such happened, then..." and a coulda, woulda, and mostly Danny shoulda" thread about Marshon?

Man, If only Lenny Bias didn't "blow" himself into oblivion...if only Reggie Lewis didn't die....if only we got Tim Duncan...if only we didn't trade Chauncey, Joe Johnson, if only Danny passed on Giddens and took DJ, if only I had married that girl from high school, if only I hadn't married that girl from high school, if only I had taken that job in D.C with that law firm that did IPOs..etc., etc., etc.

I know I've heard enough self-flagellation, Danny-flagellation and anybody flagellation about this subject.
