Grizzlies talking about moving Mayo again. Nets sound like they want cap space for next year and willing to give up Morrow.

Anyway that we get in on this and get both Mayo and Morrow?

Can we somehow involve Ray and JO (both expirings)and get two young combined Ray replacements?

Any ideas anyone?

My idea would be to stay out of it and try to acquire neither of them.

I want mayo. he was a really good player before the grizzlies started to move away from him.

he can create his own shot and has expressed interest in playing with rondo.

it might not cost us much to get him either since the grizzlies have been looking to get rid of him for awhile

  • Rondo = Good
I don't know about Mayo or Morrow, but I think one of the few ways to try to salvage the season would be to try to make a lateral move of some sort to get more offensive talent on the roster.

The biggest problem with the Celtics as currently constructed is they're still built as if the Big 3 are going to do most of the scoring.  That hasn't been a consistently viable game plan against good teams for a while now.  Even last year the C's depended a great deal on Shaq and later Glen Davis for offense.  We're not going to get 60+ points from the Big 3 alone anymore.

This year, Brandon Bass has operated as our de-facto 2nd or 3rd option on offense.  It's no wonder we're struggling.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

We need Mayo. He can play behind Ray for the rest of this year and start next year. Mayo is truly a beast given enough minutes. Just look at what he did during his first 2 years in the league...

No. I want that cap space this offseason and unless it's a player  who's going to take us a huge step closer to contending for multiple years I don't want to commit to now.

After Howard, I'm not that high on the FAs this year and we are NOT getting Howard unless Danny is a magician again. 2013 is the palce where we have a better shot at a free agent prize.

Both Morrow and Mayo expire next year. Both can score and Mayo is more versatile whereas Morrow is a lights out shooter.

Not bad Ray replacements.

I don't really see the Celtics as having the pieces necessary to acquire either one of those guys when they could just get the other from each other.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
