Is anyone else just like ... ugh ... well if this is the case, why doesn't Orlando just try to trade for Deron and maybe Dwight will reconsider his trade request and they'll both re-up in Orlando.

That makes sense. If I was orlando i would offer anything the nets want but Dwight. Thats the only way he stays.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I like Rondo more than Williams but Williams has a better overall game.

For arguments sake I doubt Rondo would post 18 points and 8.4 assists on that terrible Nets team-something to consider.

Can you imagine the attitude problems with Rondo on that cellar-dwelling Nets team? Eeeek it's a nightmare to think about.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I think rondo would be averaging 20 and 10 on that team. He would be one of the lead scoring options

I have definite issues with DWill. I think he was a jerk basically in Utah and helped one of the best coaches in NBA history get run out of town.

but right now, I think DWill would do two things that might be better than having Rondo.

He would limit TOs and this team is a TO machine.

#2 He would be a more attractive piece to Howard and KLove in terms of landing the only two legit franchise bigs potentially available out there.

I LIKE Rondo better but DWill might be better for us right now and moving forward.

What I'd really like to happen first is see what this current roster could do with a real center. I think that could be the key to this season anyway.

Dwill is a great player but he's lazy and doesn't give a lot of effort on most nights. He never seems to be in the best shape and when he's on the floor he just acts like he doesn't care.

I like players that want to play and play with passion. He's got all the talent in the world but I'll pass.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. Im not sure why Orlando wouldnt be trying to bring a second banana to Orlando to make Dwight happy. If the Magic make a push for Williams, there no way Howard keeps up with his trade demand.

What would it take to get him however?

Nelson, Turk, Richardson, Anderson? for Dwill? Too much?

I think this is a moot topic. The article on ESPN. Under # 5 says that the Nets will only consider moving D-Will if he is traded to the Lakers or the Mavericks. The Nets gave up so much for Williams that they are committed as long as they know their is even a slight chance the two of Williams and Howard can be paired in Brooklyn.

I agree and I think even if Orlando has to give up everything on their team, except Howard, then they should do it. It would be similar to the Miami situation and they would have a totally fresh start. I don't know if NJ would be interested in any of those pieces, but Nelson, Richardson, Anderson, and picks isn't a bad return. I don't think they would care much for Turk.

It appears that I am in the minority here but I would definitely make a trade centered around Rondo to get Deron Williams as I think it would make the Celtics much better.  Their problem lately is scoring points and a part of that problem is that Rondo's man does not need to cover him.  That would change dramatically with DWill.

The problem is that I don't see NJ biting.  I think many here over-value Rondo relative to what other teams see in him (perhaps over-valued for some good reasons).  For example NO saw Rondo as behind Curry and Gordon in terms of trade packages but you see statements like "wouldn't trade Rondo for anyone other than Paul or Rose..." from the fans here.  I think Nets would be attracted to packages other than what we could put together.

I am actually intrigued by DWill to OKC for a Westbrook package.  I think this makes OKC better and could give NJ a player with more perceived upside (plus whatever other young players that get included).  DWill is a much better pairing with Durant and would make them awfully tough.

I dont think they would go for turk either but I know that the Magic want him out... Even so if they don't add turk thats a pretty good return for the Nets and their "rebuilt" team actually looks pretty decent. Make the Farmar and picks for Mayo trade and they are in pretty good shape going into their move.

Nelson/Mayo
Richardson/Brooks/Stevenson
Marrow/Gaines
Humphries/Anderson/Williams
Lopez/Okur

Thats actually a 12 man team with a lot of potential. Package a couple of those young guys for  a legit SF or sign someone like AK47 and they actually don't look too too bad on paper. Nowhere near a contender yet but could be decent a couple years down the road.

you really think thats a good roster?

That is a disgusting starting 5. They would be stuck in nba hell of winning 30-35 games each year.

NJ traded Favors, Harris and 2 first round picks for Williams, do you honestly believe that they can't get a better package than Nelson, Anderson and richardson?
