What do you guys think in terms of fantasy ramifications?

My position (Standard League Format -- Roto):

I have Lopez taking up my IR spot but I'm keeping Horford in one of my 3 bench slots. I dropped Carlos Delfino for Zaza to see what he can do as a starter.

Should I just move on from Horford?
Why would you hold on to a player who will be out for ~3 months?!
You shouldn't unless its a a keeper league.

That's really rough for Atlanta.  This will certainly hurt their regular season record.  Could give the C's a chance to leap ahead of them in the ultimate standings.  Still no doubt the Hawks will make the playoffs.

This could make them especially desperate to make some trades to add additional depth, however.

J-Smith + Marvin Williams + Teague
for
Devin Harris + Raja Bell + Al Jefferson

JSmoothe doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would thrive living in Utah.

Alright, I'm moving on from him, but I know once I drop him someone will scoop him up for their empty IR spot and it will drive me crazy.

Why? He's barely going to play this season, if at all.

If their IR spot is empty then there is no cost to them unless someone else gets hurt, then they can drop him or the other player at no cost.

Either way since you already have an injured Brook Lopez you have to drop him.

I'm sure once I drop him they'll determine their initial diagnoses was incorrect and that he'll be back in a month.

Yeah, you are right. I scooped up Vladimir Radmanovic and put in for Delfino. FA is pretty dry right now which also factored into my initial reaction.

Might want to wait until the surgery is complete?

EVen if he comes back for a week or two at the end of the season it is not worth a bench spot I don't think... At least I hope.
