Hopefully it's nothing serious and Pierce is able to play for opening day but... it really sucks to get hit with these concerning injury reports considering the season hasn't even started yet.

I read about this from a Laker friend of mine but didn't think it was true. Oh well, the Lakers not winning a championship this year is part of what I want to see.

This doesn't sound like ordinary heel pain. Pierce may have plantar faciitis.

Probably true. 

However, the real question is where we'll be come playoff time. 

I think we can expect some bumps in the road with this team due to age.  However, we got royally screwed last year in terms of health, as the one guy who shouldn't have had any health problems due to age (Rondo) got nailed hard (literally). 

As long as this team is close to 100% come playoff time, I think we've got a shot.
