Is it me, or is everyone else checking CB every 15 minutes to see if Danny has made a move?  :)  Anyway, I just read an article where Doug Collins is choosing between Brackins and Nocioni for the last spot on his bench.  He doesn't seem to be a big fan of Andres (from what I read), and I know that Danny has always liked him.  He'd be a perfect backup 3 for us, and can even play the 4 (if we needed him to).  He plays hard all of the time, and I just think he's exactly what we need.  He's making 6.6 mill this year and has a team option for 7.5 next year.  Having said that, would the Sixers bite on Nocioni and Speights for JO, Bradley, Clips 1st-rounder, and a 2nd round pick?

Edi: The aforementioned deal works on REALGM's trade checker.

No way would I trade for Nocioni.  If the Sixers cut him, I'd offer him a minimum deal, though.  He has definitely lost a step, but he's better than a lot of the options left at this point.

Agree with this, but I wonder if somebody else would offer him more

I don't think he's really able to play SF anymore.

Not even if Speights was included, Roy?

Btw, Hoosiers and The Natural are my two favorite all-time movies.

I used to be a big fan of Speights upside, but he hasn't developed well.  He's stayed pretty stagnant since his rookie season.  Plus, I don't think he has the strength to play much center effectively.

Glad we share a love of mid-80s sports movies.  I'm convinced that 1984 through 1986 was the highlight of American civilization. ;)

I'm not convinced that Andres Nocioni is a better small forward than Sasha Pavlovic at this point.

Maybe Speights just needs a change of scenery.  I still think he's very talented and could flourish in the right system (ours). :)  Btw, I might have to agree with your comment regarding mid-80's sports flicks.  I'm not a wrestling fan, but Vision Quest (1985) has got be included as well.

Nocioni is a third string forward.

I think Sasha does just about everything better (maybe not the 3 ball).  I'd much rather see his defense on the court.

No harm in giving him the minimum as a reserve for when Marquis goes down (not really anyone better), but he's mostly a PF.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
