I think its pretty important that we get one of these top 5 guys in next years draft. That being said, do ya'll think that by trading both of our first round picks and maybe a player could get us in to the high lottery? Harrison Barnes, Jared Sullinger  James McAdoo (if he enters), and Quincy Miller are my favorites. What does everyone think?

Rajon Rondo is the only trade chip valuable enough to get Boston into the high lottery.

Highly unlikely. I think we are better off with Ainge having 2 shots at landing gold in a deep draft with mid-late 1st round picks.

Yeah doubtful. We have seen rondo doesn't really have much value in regards to being a major trade chip and draft picks in the NBA aren't like they are in the NFL. Top five picks in the NBA 10 Xs more valuable then two picks in the teens are combined.

This is the truth.  To get into the top 5, we'd need two picks no later than 15 (and even that might not be enough).

In a draft as stacked as this, why even move up? You can get a top 10 talent in the teens and a lottery talent in the 20s, the way things are projected.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

Our two picks would prolly be in the 20-25 range. So who do we pick? Based on some mock drafts, we might be picking from:
Mason Plumlee, CJ Leslie, Khris Middleton, Henson, Hardaway Jr. , KHris Joseph, Doron Lamb, Zeller... etc.
Not bad, but I hope Gilchrist , Jeremy Lamb or Austin Rivers would still be available..

Well, the clippers got Paul, but I dont think that automatically means they'll land like in the early 20's. I think we could still end up with like 15 or so.

  • Rondo = Good

that's an interesting idea.  launch into rebuilding with rondo + two late 1sts for a top 5 pick?

that's really interesting.

if danny is convinced somebody will be a superstar (e.g. harrison barnes, jared sullinger, perry jones), i wouldn't be surprised if he pulled the trigger on a deal like that.  even throw in green if necessary.
