This team feels like the 91-92 Celtics to me. With Rondo playing the role of Reggie Lewis. As much as I like Ray and KG, I'm ready to move on. Honestly, I was ready to move on two years ago when those guys had trade value.  :-\
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I feel ya about the feeling, perhaps regarding the result, I have to admit.

But, back then we had no bench, no athleticiam and no Rondo.

Another big difference, though, is that despite their age, PP, Ray and KG (looking fully healed)were nowhere as dinged and as tired as that group.

sadly, Lennie Bias would have changed how all that played out...geesh...hate thinking about the waste and what could have been, but whenever I think of those very late '80s and very early 90s teams, that's what I think about

I definitely feel like Ray has multiple seasons left in the tank.

I don't think KG will be hobbling around the court anymore after this season though

Basketball has been so much of KG's life that I think he should stick with it as long as he can because I'm not sure if he has something else to occupy his time.  I can't really see him sticking around the game in a coaching or front office job.  Ray and Paul seem better prepared for life after basketball, while KG seems like a guy who could use a few years of declining playing time so that he can pick up a few hobbies.  I think he's still going to be a borderline All-Star power forward and one of the best defensive big men this season.

That's funny, because I see it differently: I think KG does have a lot going on besides basketball. Not sure why, but I've always assumed he's able to turn his intensity to other things. Probably because he seems like such a smart guy, and even though he's guarded in interviews, he's let slip his interest in other things. The other day, for instance, he talked about passionately about food and cooking.
