If they don't sign Howard because of tampering charges, and Deron leaves do we trade Rondo there ?

I've always liked Deron, he's much better person and player IMO than CP. Rondo isn't bad either so maybe Howard would consider Boston now ?

Looks like McHale is off the hook now.  That's good, didn't want to see him nailed again for tampering.

all potential suitors of Dwight falling by the wayside. Looks like it will be either Lakers (Bynum trade) or Celtics (FA).

Wow.holy cow..just saw this thread... this could turn NJ from a contender to a bottom feeder for years if all this sticks and the NBA reacts as its done in the past.

If Magic make a special point of NOT trading D12 to LA (revenge) or whatever for stealing Shaq.  and NJ is punished and not allowed to have him. Humm.. ??? Could this mean that Boston now has at least a LONG SHOT for his services ? Maybe D-Will wants out too ??? DANG

Stern definetly is going to rearrange the NBA

this is a big deal. if the league doesn't go after the nets big time (this is at least as bad as the joe smith situation), it will have some problems. my guess is this might kill the nets for a while. they should at least be losing a few #1 picks. you can't, as an owner, meet w/ a player you want in an effort to talk him into pressuring his team to trade him to you, while he's still under contract, and his team hasn't agreed to trade him. that's absolutely tampering, and one of the dumbest things the nets could have done. they will get nailed for it. this probably hurts their chances of keeping deron, too.

Since I don't think the C's have a chance to land DH (unless CP comes here), I found the only truly good news (since I believe LA will eventually land Paul) coming out of this week was that DH wanted to go the Nets.  Now this.  Amazingly, the outcome could be that the Lakers land CP and then are able trade for DH.  This is my recurring nightmare.

Dwight Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, tells SI that the Magic gave Howard permission to have contact with several teams to explore his options

Fegan says the Orlando gave Howard permission to talk to three teams. New Jersey was one of them.

The Nets are one of three teams that Howard has permission to speak, but Fegan says Howard did not attend a meeting with Nets officials.

What else can Fegan say the meeting clearly happened.

He has to have some story.

Otis Smith is reported as saying he had given permission while Magic CEO is denying it. No way you can prove tampering like that.

Sounds like tampering that's being covered up.

Either that or Otis Smith doesn't talk to the CEO.......

No wonder Dwight is gone.
