I'm not up to date on DAL's cap situation, but I'm thinking there was no way for them sign Chandler, Butler, and Barea.

VC is not longer the main man type player, but he is still a very valuable asset to have on your team.  Are any of the C's pickups so far better than VC?

I wouldnt be surprised to see VC pick it up a bit in Dallas.  All he's likely to be asked for out there is scoring.  I doubt anyone has any illusions of him locking people down at this point.

ya, their offseason doesnt look great, but its fair to remember that caron butler didnt play in the playoffs/finals series.

I think they have enough depth where they will be fine

Kidd/Carter/marion/Dirk/Haywood is still a pretty good starting 5

Carter's production is almost identical to Butler. And there is talk they can get Dalembert in a s+t for the Chandler trade exception.

And they may lose out on J.J Barea too

Vince Carter and Rudy Fernandez. Replacing DeShawn Stevenson and Caron Butler.

Losing a lot of physical toughness on that wing. Dallas is going to become even more reliant on a 39 year old Jason Kidd and a 33/34 year old Shawn Marion to defend the wing.

Yeah....Almost identical if you don't count defense, heart, and all those games that the tankster just plain doesn't feel like showing up.  Other than that, it's a wash.

I always thought Cuban was smart until now.

A healthy roddy B is better and more explosive honestly.

Butler didn't even play. He doesn't even count in the analysis honestly.

Butler didnt play in the finals and they still won..theyre going to need someone to play defense at the 2, but offensively I think its a good signing(is it for the vet minimum?)
