What are we supposed to do with all the money we have tied up in the big 4 and a weak market?

Next year will be the year.

The year for what exactly? Chris Paul will be off the market and Dwight Howard will likely be as well. Who can we sign with all that money that can help us contend? I say tank this season and get a a great pick.
Monte Ellis? Andre Iguodala? Josh Smith? All free agents.

Do you expect a team of Rondo, an old Pierce, and one of AI, Ellis, or Josh Smith to contend with the Heat, Knicks, Lakers, or Thunder? No chance. Go all in for the lottery and get a superstar big man out of it to pair with Rondo and Green and then sign Ellis or AI.
Nope you're quite right. A lot depends on how we do in the draft. Just like it does for most teams. This clippers pick is really quite important. But if we can get creative, and add Iguodala, Smith and Jefferson we're one good draft pick away from contending. I really believe that.

We are certainly headed for a future as a tier 2 team. But we can still have success! Look at what Memphis did this past year!

While the rest of the league is focused on superstars we can focus on team. I know I'm not exactly preaching to the choir here, but we can assemble a group of very good players and be extremely competitive. And who knows, maybe along the way we get lucky through the draft. Its not impossible.

there are better guys out there than freakin kenyon dooling and maquis daniels. two bums
Again, with the risk of repeating myself -- please point out who these guys are, how you plan to sign them, and what makes it impossible to still do it. Otherwise you're just hurling stuff at the wall.

This year we hope that a shortened season and chemistry will give us a huge advantage over teams like LA and NY, as well as other hastily assembled or upstart teams.

Then we hope we can get by MIA and CHI. (gulp..)

Anyone who thought we were going to be players in the free agent market hasn't been paying attention

if these are the best we can get (Daniels and dooling) then do we honest think this team can contend? or even finish seeded high?

Aren't those guys still free agents celticsorlando? I mean come on dude. Free agency isn't over. Ainge was obviously preoccupied with the Paul trade. But for a lot of these guys he's just going to have to wait them out.

Free agency is not only not over, it hasn't started.

look at his only 2 moves so far: marquis daniels and keyon dooling. i don't even hear the Cs linked to anyone of value...longer he waits the more we have to settle for bums like dooling and daniels...and i bet my house he signs baby to a long deal
