Don't you think that is bad for our future when we need to rebuild from scratch lol?

Yes.

But when you trade for an all-nba player you have to give up a lot.

1st round picks are nice but cap room is even nicer.

Our 1st rounders shouldnt be that great anyway and the Clippers pick probably wont be to high either.

Bad FA signings sets teams back further than missed draft picks in my opinion.

If we were giving up a guaranteed top5 or even top 10 pick then I would hesitate but that isnt the case.

If you were to tell me that those 2 first rounders would turn into the level of player that is CP3 or DH, then yeah...I wouldn't trade them.

But you can't.

I can tell you that we would have CP3.

It's all about the better odds.

my only concern would be if we gave up multiple future firsts.  in that case, if cp3 leaves after this season and our team hits rock bottom, we'll be giving up a lottery pick or two.

as long as the picks involved are the clippers 2012 pick (which we might not have gotten anyway) and our own 2012 pick (which won't be great in any case), i'm fine with it.

yes it is bad for our future and I predict this is a bad move because I don't think Paul would resign with us. Which leaves Danny with little building blocks and no star talent coming to Boston. At least not CP3 or Howard anyway.

I think the point is that the Clips pick becomes unprotected by 2016.  I'd throw in a clause that if we have to give up 2 1st rounders, we could do next year's (which is less than ideal in a loaded draft) and in whatever year we get the Clip's pick, NO gets the worse of that one or the C's own pick-->on the chance that CP leaves and we end up in the lottery, we may have some protection.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Better two first round picks then two future first round picks. If CP3 walks its the 2013 pick you'll be crying about not 2012. Still if we are giving Rondo, Green, Bradley and Moore we should get to keep our 2012 pick or get someone other than Paul.
