Granted Odens an injury risk, but when he actually was on the court, he looked like he was on his way to being a force.

The only thing he is a force in is the ER room.  Dude has been unhealthy as all get out.  He had some talent , I always thought he was much older than he looked but I have no proof.

Spears is reporting that Oden is heavily leaning towards accepting his qualifying offer from Portland and testing free agency next offseason.

Heat wont be getting him.

Darn, I was hoping they'd get him and not go after better FA centers.
Celtics fan for life.

i could sell myself on greg oden pretty easily.  Boston should make a run at him.  Could portland sign-and-trade him?

I'd still be for trading KG and Allen for Camby, Roy, and Oden (3 yr, 21 mill).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Why? Given Roy's and Oden's health we could be left with just Camby in a hurry.

risk v. reward.  There is a high risk without question, but if it works, the C's are a contender for a long time, rather then just one year (and calling the C's a contender this year is a bit of a stretch to me as I can't see them getting by the Heat without major changes).

If that's true and he can play well this year as well as put to bed any major injury concerns, he wouldn't be a bad Plan B for the C's if they can't get DH next year.  They'd have the money and an all-star PG (either Rondo or CP3) to draw him.

I'd rather have Howard if it's a possibility but failing that, a reasonably healthy Oden isn't a bad consolation prize.

Trouble is the reasonably healthy part.

Miami don't have enough money to sign Oden.

Maybe everyone in the Miami organization could sell their championship rings from last season and give Oden the proceeds on the side.  :o
