we weren't until Danny destroyed the chemistry and loyalty of the current team.

yeah, i know, it's a profession and they have to be grown-ups about it. but i maintain that this Celtics team was unique (throwbacks to the 60's and 70's teams) and they thrived on their togetherness more than any team in the league. trading that away was as damaging as trading away a key player (oh yeah, Danny did that too)

it could be that Rondo and Perk won't/would not be as good playing for another team as they are/were playing for these Celtics - but they fit this team and it brought out the best in them while allowing their talent to compliment the Big 3.

sorry for the replay, but i don't think i'll ever quite get over game 7 in 2010 or the loss of opportunity last year.

Fair enough.

We keep saying that LeBron and Wade won't make it because they lack a certain something; but we traded part of that same thing away with Perk.

Chemistry is hard to attain, and as it seems, hard to maintain as well.

For the same reason I was peeved when we traded 'Toine, I will be peeved if we trade Rondo.

Rondo was a rookie here, won a title here, became an all-star here.  Rondo HAS dominated in the playoffs.

I'll move on, but I will not be happy.  I will still root for the C' none the less.

The mandate will be championship or bust.  Otherwise, I doubt I would ever truly accpet Paul.

I really still don't get this fuss about Perk. He's not an all-star player and he was rarely healthy last year. When he did play, he did the best he could coming back from injury...good for him.

We made the trade because we had an injured roster and we needed healthy bodies in return to help us for the 2nd half/stretch run.

We got a healthy starting Center back, the best player in the trade in Jeff Green and a first round draft pick.

The only true chemistry that was ruined was Shaq was unable to be healthy again.

We really had no chemistry with Perk last year, he was rarely there.

I don't understand all this "we can't trade Rondo" or "Red wouldn't do this" talk. Red traded the recently departed Ed Macauley for Bill Russell. Easy Ed, who was only 27 at the time, had just finished coming off his 6th straight All-Star season and was one of the league's premier players.

Now, I'm not comparing Paul to Russell, but the point is that sometimes tough decisions need to be made for the betterment of the franchise. I'm glad Danny is at the helm and ready to make those choices regardless of the potential backlash.

No, but I'd much rather root for players who may not be the most like guys but win....than the loveable losers.

If there comes a trade that makes the team better, sometimes it just has to be done.
