The Celtics have 3 traded player exceptions from Marquis Daniels, Semih Erden, and Luke Harongody trades.  These exceptions total $3,335,208.  These exceptions expire on February 24th 2012.  This means that we can take in that much more salary on any one on one player trades.  With the new CBA I'm sure many teams must be looking for ways to shed salaries.  Our Trade assets are Avery Bradley.  We can also use these exceptions as part of a sign and trade involving any of our free agents.  What would be the best way to use these exceptions before they expire?  Is it possible to trade them for a pick to a team looking to bring in more salary in a trade?

TEs cannot be combined, unfortunately. The Daniels' TE (shy of $2.4 mil) is the only one of real consequence.

What happened to Sheed's contract? Is he still on the books? How long was his contract?

He was bought out, so he should be off the books.

Don't think this is true.  I don't think bought out means off the books at all.  Whether Sheed is still on the books, I am not sure but I think he is.

According to the Coon's salary cap FAQ:

Quote
The agreed-upon buy-out amount is included in the team salary instead of the salary called for in the contract. If the player had more than one season left on his contract, then the buy-out money is distributed among those seasons in proportion to the original salary.

I see no reason to believe a new CBA has changed that in any way.

Rasheed's salary is off the books.
