I know the league said it will be Dec. 9th for free agents to be signed, but does anyone know when teams can start talking with players and making "wink wink" deals until the official free agent signing date of the 9th?

Not sure about an exact date or if it's when the lockout is officially over, but I did read that Doc and Danny can talk to people before the 9th, just not sign them.

They will have to do wink wink details because training camp starts Dec 9, 2011.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

If it's anything like the NFL lockout, contracts can be negotiated once both the owners and players approve the CBA, but nothing can be signed until free agency is officially open.
