Who can the C's target after the big 3 era?

I did this in my 2k11 association mode. Although  I traded KG for Josh Smith, I think he is the best option moving forward. Howard can only do so much as the best player, but having a guy like Smith would be a better fit especially with Rondo. Center spot can be filled easily as long as they can play some D. Just finished association mode season and I thought with ray getting older, what sg can we target? Eric Gordan please!

Gordon would be awesome, but I can't see LAC letting him walk, mostly because if Gordon walks, Blake will most likely be gone too.

Also people were suggesting Big AL and JJ because they would be amnestified (or something?) and wouldn't want big contracts. Having JJ as our SG would be good, but not as the #1 guy to take over scoring and go to in the clutch. I think if we did end up trading KG's expiring for Josh, Howard would be close behind.

I suggested Joe Johnson because he is probably the most similar player to Pierce right now. Not Super-duper star but a reliable  All Star small forward who can carry the team.
I don't know why you're hating on Johnson so much, imagine if Pierce had to play on that ATL squad. Would anyone care about him? Pierce never did anything for us until KG and Allen came.
I'm not saying Pierce is a bum (i love him) but if Joe Johnson got some help around he'd be a great fit for us. If you can't see that, there is another bias misguiding your judgement.

I have high confidence in the ability of the Donald Sterling to mismanage the Clippers, so I assume that there is always going to be at least a small chance that Blake Griffin (and Gordon) will somehow become available.

I heartily disagree.  He is one of the best C scorers ever.   He also is more clutch than Joe Johnson ever was folks.   Paul Pierce did stick daggers into his opponents throughout his career.   Don't sell the Truth short.   I get your saying we did not win consistently but he still was a fantastic finisher throughout his career even during the doldrums of the Celtic's bad teams.

I'm not trying to sell Pierce short, I'm saying that without any decent talent around him, his greatness is really overlooked and he did pretty much the same as Johnson, ie: might get past the first round of playoffs if he's lucky.
Now I'm not saying Johnson is as good as Pierce, but because of  his Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ty team, he is often overlooked. In fact I think he has never actually been voted as an All Star, he just made the reserves a few times. Put Johnson in with players that are better than Josh Smith, Crawford and Horford and he would have a lot less pressure on him. He is also a very clutch player and  excellent 3 point shooter. I would never pay what the Hawks paid for him but at 29 he is someone who might fly under the radar. There isn't much out there and we need to win while we have Rondo. Even getting Howard in our dreams, wouldn't be enough with just Rondo, we need a 1 on 1 guy who can create his own shot as well as drain the 3 when he's open. (just like Pierce)
Johnson ticks these off quite easily.
