If the the shortened season is anything like the previous one our team will have to be dragged across the finish line to the post season. Without the rest in between games the injuries could pile up fast. Fools gold is exactly what a shortened season is.

I'll take whatever they can scrap up.  As a fan I pretty much don't even care that much any more.  At the risk of sounding like a cranky old man, the game has been getting steadily worse over the last 20 years or so, while the egos keep getting bigger.

From a Celtics practicality standpoint the tighter schedule would seem to be a detriment.

...and I was looking forward to watching Stoudamire and Anthony play in New York this season. Oh well  ::)

As someone mentioned earlier in this topic, a shortened NBA season might be to the Celtic's advantage as our older players will be less weary come playoff time. The Eastern Conference will be stacked again like last year even though the Dallas Mavericks did emerge victorious over the East this past season without home court advantage.

Preposterous... How can you actually be rooting for a shorter season... As it is now the game is supposed to be 82 games, if you dont believe in your team, and believe they can hack it for a full season, than what kind of fan are you really??

Some of us are rooting for a short season as opposed to no season.  For me, of course, a full NBA season would be preferable.

I think my team can hack 82 games.  It just doesn't seem too likely they'll get them as we are rapidly entering November with no contract.

I don't really care.

I don't like David Stern's commissionership.  And I don't like some of the owners.

Let the whole league collapse under the lockout, for all I care.  Maybe someone will start a new league.

Add to that that some players sense of entitlement needs a reality check, and I am almost there with you.  Start over and see who appreciates what.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phew!  A week until training camp, and the chance to see my Boston Celtics play ball is nowhere in sight.

Had to get that out of my system.  Somebody help me.

I was soooooo hoping this would get resolved before pre-season cancellations.   Now my upfront seats for the Providence game are dead in the water   >:(

I would love to see the system completely reworked...but I also am selfish, and don't want a fall/winter without NBA basketball.

The last shortened season was awful.  Hopefully, they won't even conisder back-to-back-to-backs this time around.  I always have felt that the SA championship that season was somehow tainted. Not sure why I feel this way, but I do.  I hope they get everything in order for the full season -- or at worst a Dec 1 start.
