Was rumored in today's newspaper. Supposed to sign until end of lockout.

I think they assume he's a pure PG... Boy, they'll be gravely mistaken.

Any professional ball team will check out a player before they sign him. They won't assume a player can do something and blindly sign the guy. Good luck to him.

good.  hopefully he gets to play a major role on a team and gain some confidence in his abilities / work on his weak points.

I doubt A.Bradley would get playing time on a team that good.

I would think that Bradley still needs a lot of coaching instruction and more experience before being ready for that level of competition.

Sorry, I tried to find something online, but couldn't. It was reported in the sports section of a newspaper called "Israel Hayom". Keep in mind that I don't know how reliable this report is.
I'll translate the important stuff:

"Besiktas has Deron Williams, Maccabi Tel-Aviv has Jordan Farmar, Anadolu Efes has Ersan Ilyasova. The list goes on, and now Hapoel Jerusalem wants its own NBA player. "The Reds" may soon sign guard Avery Bradley for a temporary contract that will last until the lockout ends.

Hapoel Jeruslem has decided to get a combo guard, that will assist the team during its preliminary stages of the season, and will maybe lead it to the Eurocup's "Last 16". Bradley (21, 1.88 m) was selected 19th in last year's draft by the Boston Celtics, but couldn't quite fit in during his rookie season - Suffered by a severe ankle injury, had surgery and returned to the latter part of the season averaging 1.7 points in 5.2 minutes in green uniform. His best performance was his 20 points in the regular season's last game against New York. He also appeared in the development league."

The story then goes on about a second guard the team will try to land that will play SG, called Philip Vidnov, from Bulgaria.

That's it. Hope it helps.

Although Hapoel Jerusalem is considered to be Israel's second best team (After Maccabi Tel-Aviv), its accomplishments during the last few seasons weren't too good. They have a good coach, but the management is a bit chaotic.

I actually think they're building on Bradley as a key player. Otherwise they wouldn't want to bring him, since they don't have a large budget like other European teams.

I hope this is true.  If there was ever a player who could benefit from playing in Europe, it is Bradley.  In Europe they really work on fundamentals, and that is exactly what Bradley needs to do.  Hopefully he takes advantage of the opportunity.

And Bradley is a guy that just needs to play, make mistakes and not be afraid of being yanked for it.  He needs to gain confidence in his ability to contribute and sharpen his fundamental skills.

I disagree that he needs to play and make mistakes.  I think the fact that he did exactly that through his highschool and college days is exactly why he is as raw as he is right now.  He wasn't forced to learn the fundamentals, and as he was so much better athletically than everyone else, he created bad habits as he killed them with his athleticism.

While he does need to play, I think structure is going to be VERY important for him.

Huh? I know kids from UMass that will never sniff the NBA, but make good money playing overseas in Turkey, Germany, Israel, etc. I think Avery will do fine overseas.

He means the team, I think, not the country. In a weaker team there'd be less pressure on him to produce. Less risk of being yanked due to poor play. There's much more less parity in European leagues than in the NBA, so players can be in the same league/country and playing at very different levels. Personally I think he could be okay with Hapoel. Especially because of their coach, Oded Kattash. A young guy who was an excellent guard himself. He could teach a thing or two to Avery.

They signed DJ Strawberry, does the interest on Bradley subsist?
