Richardson going to Chicago would almost certainly make available Keith Bogans (team option) and/or Rasual Butler (free agent).  The Celtics were supposedly one of the teams interested in Butler when he was bought out.

Personally, I'd be willing to leave the backup SG role in the hands of some combination of Von Wafer, Delonte West, Avery Bradley, and E'Twuan Moore.  If the Celtics got Richardson, I think the team should not pursue bringing back West and Wafer.

I'd rather target bigs and a real backup point guard as the team needs.

You lost me when you said we should not pursue bringing back West...

Shooting Guard is really the only weak position (on paper) in Chicago's starting lineup.

If he can just hit a couple three's, and run the break he'll be a nice fit. As the famous J-Rich quote goes: "He's hit 1,400 three's and everyones still only talking about the dunks."

Delonte West is probably the most overrated Celtic on this board.  He's useful, but people just seem inclined to assume a rosy scenario when it comes to his health.  If the Celtics somehow acquired Jason Richardson, the Celtics would be better off replacing West with someone who is a better playmaker as a point guard.  Otherwise, he is taking up a roster spot that really should go towards addressing big man depth.

Like everyone is saying he's going to Chicago and I believe he should.

dont forget, Vince Carter should be becoming a Free agent as well after he's bought out by Phoenix...either one of them is going to Chicago IMO...so richardson "could" be available..

having someone who can come off the bench, put up some quick points would be good for the Celts.
