This is clearly a longshot, but instead of logistics, I wanted to discuss the results in CHEMISTRY of the team.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3wjbuz8Note: We'd send over plenty of picks to go to Orland too, including the clippers 2012 and whatnot.
I mentioned this in another thread as to what keeping Rondo and obtaining these two could do for the team. We'd have the best "big 3" in defense: RR, DH, JSmoove. They all can run the floor, the alley-oops.....would be endless. Makes sense because DH gets that pure point guard who can lob to him all day (as Rondo was w/ Shaq when he was healthy!). JSmith LIVES for alley-oops w/ JJ on the Hawks. Rondo knows JS from high school days and already have chemistry. He get back another close friend on the team HIS AGE...and also gets back his drive to play! DH and JS are also very good friends - DH would have plenty of reason to want to play in green then: Rondo's passing and JS. period.
Now I know a counter argument for this trade in terms of gameplan is we'd have no more super awesome shooting 2-guard to really spread the floor. Pierce would do all right but wouldn't suffice. We'd have to sign - we'd still have cap room in 2012 to invest if the Cap stayed about the same. Let's guestimate ~$8 mil. That or the MLE would absolutely obtain us pretty solid role players/starting 2: J.R. Smith, J Rich, O.J. Mayo, etc. Toss in a few vet mins to pick up like we did with PJ Brown, and that should wrap up nicely.
Also, you see that we'd pick up Hedo too. Forgot about Hedo.
He'd come with DH and we all know Hedo somehow plays really well in passing to Dwight too (Hedo if on with his 3s can really help stretch the floor too). He'd be a pretty good 6th man IMO. He could play backup at point even at times (very sporadically though).
This is all if the lockout ends early enough for trades to happen! Bottom line here is I'd really like the defensive emphasis the trio would have with Celtics culture!
