  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

(Don't worry about Hollinger's rating  ;))

Any thoughts? Johnson is a beast on the defensive end, and could be an improved, stronger version of Tony Allen. Anthony Randolph could develop better under KG, who I would compare his play style to. Wesley could improve more offensively with Ray and Paul, and is more of a slasher. He has a tremendous defensive play, and would benefit us more greatly than Green, in my opinion. They are still young, though, and would need an off season or perhaps a lockout to develop. They aren't proven unlike Green and Davis, but they have more potential, I believe.

I like Marcus Smart

I don't see why either side would do this, to be honest.

I could absolutely see the Celtics for this, Minny not so much.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Probably not the best thing either team could do.  This trade would involve the Celtics giving the Wolves two SUPERIOR players and getting two players with some potential.  Honestly I don't see Johnson or Randolph becoming anything.

I don't think either Randolph or Johnson has proven enough to really be worth it.  It's not clear at this point that either of those guys will be more valuable to a competitive team than Green / Davis, as flawed as those two may be.

Randolph sure, but Wes Johnson had a respectable rookie year (actually similar to Green).  Green just didn't improve much, which isn't likely with Johnson.  If you are looking for this year, then yeah Green and Davis are better, but 4 years from now, I would rather have Johnson and Randolph and since we are talking about bench players, I'd go for the future.

I tend to agree with you that both players will be better than their counterparts in a few years.  But I don't think that's a certainty.

Wes Johnson had an okay rookie season, although most of what he did was hit threes. Otherwise he wasn't very efficient (10 PER), and he didn't seem to help the T-Wolves god awful defense much.

Anthony Randolph has bounced around the league for a few years mostly on potential.  He plays with good efficiency but for whatever reason never seems to stick in a rotation for more than 10 minutes a game or so.

Well said. Basically 2 under-performing high picks (Green/Johnson) for 2 poor bench players. Since the Celtics aren't looking to rebuild yet, they'd still rather have Green over Johnson.

What's kinda shocking is Green is less than a year older than Johnson. Both are 24 so Johnson may not improve much. BBD last year was one of the worst regulars in the NBA so a flier on Randolph could be worth it.

I wanna give Jeff Green a chance with the Celtics before we write him off. I wouldn't hasitate to trade baby tho, but i just can't see Danny Getting rid of Green. But I love those players, they'll develop into (at least wes) allstars, with the help of the big 3.
Doc's gonna tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Yeah iknow, my username is Kendrick Perkins and my ranking is Jeff Green. Ironic huh?
