We are not going into next season with an all-star center, so we need to bring a lot of guys to the party. We have the MLE, LLE and Baby to make it happen. I like:

Jermaine O'Neal, Kwame Brown, Kyrylo Fesenko, Alexis Ajinca

O'Neal and Brown split the minutes, and provide pretty much everything Perk brought with a little less snarl and 6 extra fouls. Fesenko and Ajinca are huge, young and athletic. One of them will turn into something, and both provide a lot of depth and fouls at the position.

PF: Garnett - Johnson - Murphy
SF: Pierce - Green - Brown
SG: Allen - West - Moore
PG: Rondo - Bradley

That is a really deep team, with some nice change of pace guys on the bench. Murphy comes back in shape with something to prove, on a minimum contract. The wings from Pitt are perfect 13-14 guys on the bench, and if they dont provide anything, we can give them the Harangody treatment and bring in a vet minimum guy for the stretch run.

I appreciate your thoughts on this, and pretty much agree with the concept (center by committee).

However, two things:

(1) The only way to get Kwame Brown would be to offer a multi-year deal (using most if not all of the MLE).  That would significantly damage the Cs flexibility in 2012 (and beyond).

(2) I prefer a solid vet over the two young Centers you list.  I'm thinking more along the lines of Jeff Foster, Etan Thomas, Jason Collins, etc.  I think the first could be had with the LLE and the second two would probably take vet min deals.

Foster has said he wants to be a Pacer for as long as they want him and I think it's probably a Ben Wallace type situation where he would take less money to stay where he is comfortable.

Yeah, KG said the same thing when in Minny.  It just makes me want Foster more.  Seems like a hard-working, no-nonsense, stand up guy.  He isn't the type to bother whining about his job.
