Since this is a single season exercise, again, I am leaning towards Wilt.

Otherwise, it would have been between Russell and Kareem.

To me, it comes down to one of three guys:  Russell, Wilt, or Kareem.  To me, those are the only three guys who can be called "best", even though there were several elite, all-time great centers.

To me, it's Russell, for this reason:

11 rings in 13 years.

... plus two NCAA championships and a gold medal.

I don't understand is this based off of their greatest season or dominance in their era or overall body of work?

Because of the way the question came across to me (not a single season), I'm going Russell too.

If it's just 1 season (not career) I would throw Bill Walton late 70s into the mix.
