So, after game 1......sure we can out that the Celtics started slow, the refs stunk and ruined our flow, and the weak side defense was horendous. (Not to mention how bad Rondo played)

But, I think we need to look at other things moving forward.
Glen Davis was flat out horendous this game. His weak side defense was horendous, and resulted in waaayy to many points. (Even and 1s, in the middle of huge runs.)
Jeff Green played bad in the first half, but the whole team did. He played very well in the second half.
Jermaine has been playing good, but offers different upside than BBD and Green closing games.

  • Rondo = Good
It depends on their lineup, but I think Green is the best option.  He looked decent out there at the end of the game.

First option : Jermaine (great defense - really changes our entire D -, OK offense and possible midrange jumper)
Second option : Jeff Green in a small ball lineup with KG at the 5 offensively but defending Bosh. Not great on D but not terrible either and a good scoring boost/menace.
Last option : Baby. Can't rebound, can't defend, can occasionnally score.

JO and it's not even close. He's plays good defense, decent offensively, and can make free throws.

Jermaine O'Neal -- Celtics need his interior defense to fight off Wade's + LeBron's dribble penetration.

Agreed, but still....having Jeff Green in at the end of game adds another defender who can atleast somewhat cover Lebron and Wade off switches.

I think Glen Davis has been atrocious and I see where all of your skeptics are coming from about him now.

How about BBD? If your gonna hate on Green you need to say that BBD has been playing as bad if not worse. His defense was not only attrocious but cancerous to the team, meaning it spread. The way he didnt protect the weakside ruined many possible runs, and he can't rebound, even against a small Heat lineup.

Jermaine
BBD
Green

Not only is Green far and away the worst player out of the three - he also goes beyond his usual uselessness when you play him at the 4

JO for sure. Neither Green nor BBD can rebound and usually BBD is a better defender than Green. Green gives you a three-point shot option, however, although not highly dependable.

How was BBD today? His weakside defense (which is what he is responsible for) was atrocious, and he brought nothing to the table on offense. Got no offensive rebounds, and I dont recall him scoring in the paint.

JO is a legit argument, but saying Jeff Green is far and beyond worse that BBD, especially after today, is unrealistic.
