- Talks about Duncan getting thrown out for laughing. Against the Mavs that was.

Forget Player X, I think I've figured out who really wrote that list:

Terry does seem like a good fit in light of that info, though, and would be the sort of guy they'd ask to write the column.  But now I'm picturing Artest whispering sweet nothings in his ear and it's cracking me up a little.

My first thought was Channing Frye.

Chris Paul.  He is a guy who likes the spotlight, but I can also see him as someone who would love to be able to have the anonymity of this article.  I also think he is well spoken, and would be able to pen an article like this.

According to ESPN, the same Player X has written various columns.  In one of them, he called out Chris Paul for being abusive to the officials, but somehow still always getting calls.

Here are some of the reasons people think it's Terry:

Quote
- Talks about Duncan getting thrown out for laughing. Against the Mavs that was.
- Vet, that's been in the league for some years and seems to know most (vet) players
- Larry Brown comment. March 1st - Charlotte - Mavs 28-15 FTA
- Polite guy that always seems rather calm.
- Calls out Kobe (rivals), Wade (finals '06) and Paul (rivals) for getting away with a lot.
- Makes an example about groupies by bringing up Dirk falling for a (criminal) groupie -> good chance he's a Mav
- Writes about players getting traded out of Dallas because of girls
- Writes about the importance to have a go-to guy on your team. (Dirk)
- Then compares LeBron vs. Kobe and brings up some random MVP talk by players about Dirk -> gotta be a Mav
- Writes a lot about the west in general
- Not a Detroit/Philly/Orlando/Utah/Boston player, unless that arena comment is a trap
- Familiar with Allen Iverson, Antoine Walker, Bonzi Wells & Steve Francis
- Writes about the Hawks being notorious for partying before they got Joe Johnson. (former Hawk)
- Writes about (his former Hawk teammate) Antoine Walker who'd go to the clubs a lot.
- Writes about alcohol being bad (pretty sure he doesn't drink booz)
- Writes about a talented former college teammate that didn't make it to the NBA, because of drinking problems (Miles Simon)

This was all prior to this recent column.  Add in the stuff about KG being a punk and going after little players (Barea?), and it very well could be Terry who is writing this.

People have named guys like Charlie V. and Chris Bosh, but both of those guys were called out, as well.

Noah is plausible, but this guy seems to have been in the league for awhile.

Interesting.

But if I was writing with anonymity for the media, I'd throw my name out there in a slightly negative light to throw people off. Plus I'd like to see if they agree.

I doubt it is a superstar like CP3. It's also not a guy who is inactive some nights. Somewhere in the middle is where a guy like Terry fits the bill.

I'm convinced it's Terry. Whoever it is, it really doesn't matter though.

I'd like these Player X articles to be more about the state of the game or a behind-the-scenes look at life as a pro instead of airing out dirty laundry about players.

Why put out the list during playoffs gets me more upset. I don't even wanna express the huge hypocrisy of the overall quote but why run the story? KG haters are butt, no clarification needed here. It doesn't give game tendencies but who KG isn't dumb enough to get suspended. Player X can take a KG elbow to the mouth.

oh the irony....calling kg a punk/coward, but doing so anominously.   ::)

if the person has something to say, say it directly to kg.  don't do it to a reporter anominously, don't do it online/twitter,etc.  be a man and say it to kg directly.  if not, ur the punk/coward.

TP,I agree DL 100%,and i question the integrity of a reporter(writer)who would put it in print without a name attached to it.The reporter has somee questionable triats as well.(imo)
