If the Cs get to the EC Finals, I have a few observations I would like to share.

-The Bulls and the Cs defensive scheme derive from the same priciples and have the same weakness.  In short, defensive rotations, leave a big hole on the boards for any team smart enough to crash the offensive rebounds.

-PP has to win the battle against LDeng.  Do not underestimate LDeng's contribution, don't take him lightly. Or he will eat your lunch in more ways than one.

-CBoozer struggles aganinst length.  Use your tallest line up(i.e. KG, JO, Shaq, Kristic) as much as you can.  Limit BBD's minutes on this one.

-Noah struggles against size.  Use Shaq(if avalable) or Perk(oops he is gone).  Never mind, if Shaq isn't available, we probably didn't make it this far anyways...

We also gotta tell Rondo "If you're better than Rose go prove it."

I hope because the last time he played him, Rose took him to the back of the alley and beat him like he stole something.

  • Rondo = Good
Have to move the ball to the opposite side and hit open jumpers, because that's the weakness of Thibs' defensive system.  Can't try to score on the strong side.

Also, have to take advantage of times when Rose is out of the game, and try your best to get him in foul trouble.  On top of that, do your best to discourage Rose from driving the lane by fouling him hard whenever he goes in there, and taking charges as best you can.

Rondo needs to be aggressive and take it at Rose, it was clear today that he was having difficulty guarding Collison especially early on.  With all of the energy that he expends on offense, Rose will have trouble containing Rondo if Rondo is aggressive.

One series at a time. One game at time. One period at time. One possession at a time.

Good. Show him the tape and ask him if his PTSD support group was able to help him.

If we are playing well enough to get by both New York and Miami, I'm feeling pretty good about our chances against Chicago.  We've got a long way to go, though, especially with the Shaq situation.

rose is so good at getting to the basket, i'd give him a little bit of the rondo treatment and see if being left wide open and out of rhythm leads to more missed jumpers.  it certainly would leave less "and-1's", clog up chicago ball movement a bit, and preserve some fouls.

i don't know, maybe it's been tried before but i haven't seen it and i'm curious how the squad would respond.  they are so dependent on one guy.

other than that, yeah hit the offensive boards.  but the celts don't like to do that, so i don't know...

It's amazing what a little boxing out can do to improve a team.

Maybe we should try it?

Where's Cliff Ray when we need him?

The Bulls play with a lot of energy, and their close-outs are sharp.

Their bigs will be willing to work harder for rebounds than ours, and that could decide the series (if it happens).

I've read some claims that Chicago has had some problems against small ball lineups.  I don't consider a KG-BBD line to be a real small ball configuration.

Rondo needs to be the same Rondo that fouled Kirk Heinrich and Brad Miller.

Yeah, this is where Jeff Green comes into play. He needs to play and play well if we get a chance to play Chicago because he could cause matchup problems and havoc against them.
