I didn't see the game tonight but I saw a bit of Doc's press conference and he was saying something along the lines of needing to get Pierce the ball more and how Pierce is a real good player and that he needs to put him in better spots.

I feel like this is the first time in a while that Doc has mentioned focusing the offense on one particular player in general. He's openly talked about getting certain guys the ball in particular games and playoff series (KG vs Cavs) but his comments after this game make me feel like he wants and thinks that Pierce needs to carry a lot more of the offensive load. That he needs to be getting more shots than others.

I don't think our defense has struggled nearly as much as our offense as of late and maybe Doc is thinking that we need to get our beastly offense players more plays and more shots than they have been getting all year.

I didn't see the game and didn't see the whole press conference but this is something that usually comes from the player (asking to take more shots) rather than the coach

I agree with Doc completely. Here's a shameless plug of my related post where I kind of talk about the issue in-depth.

The shot distribution issues on this team have been bothering me for a few weeks, and my post has been stewing in my head for about as long. Frankly, I was gonna post it after the other day's loss but I accidentally deleted the whole thing after typing it.

Decided to retype it today after Glen Davis led the team in shot attempts. ugh.

I think the issue is not getting Paul the rock early enough in games.

It is like we wait for Paul to bail us out.

I can understand this philosophy if our other guys are contributing well, offensively.

But if we are struggling from the jump, Paul needs to be the focus of our offense.

Or KG.

Well OP Pierce scored 22 points on 6-10 shooting tonight and I agree with Rivers with the addition of Green Pierce is going to be fresher so we need to feed our leading scorer more
