In the past, Doc has liked to keep players in their "roles", so I'm guessing that Krstic will start until Shaq gets back.  I do agree (like others) that Krstic's defense is soft, though.

that's why Baby usually closes out games even when he does not start. but yeah, Doc likes to keep guys in their roles...

I'm sure he's got his fingers crossed for a return of Bigger Baby...
Baby with the starting unit has cost Doc before and will cost him again. The LAkers defend that move perfectly, how they won the last game vs C's. As for Krstic, some fans had his back even though a few of us noticed how horrible his defense was. Krstic should play with Baby. I'll let Doc chew him out on camera, but he should be fine when Shaq or JO get back.

Krstic has played like a mediocre center the last three games, and has been horrendous on defense. He was playing over his head against lousy teams. I don't think he will see more than 10-15 minutes. Game in the playoffs.

Mediocre might be overstating it.  I stand by the "Mikki Moore in cement shoes" description.

I was wondering, after Shaq went down and before Perk came back, the Celtics started BBD. Our Interior defense was still great. I think the problem (other than Rondo) is our interior defense is SOFT!!!! Would it benefit the Celtics to start BBD instead of Kristic? Now saying that, once Shaq comes back, We all know that Kristic will go back to the bench.

Let me know what you think about starting BBD, instead of Kristic, which might make it a smoother transition when Shaq comes back into the starting lineup?
I think if we move BBD into the starting lineup, he knows both systems compared to Kristic who has only 3-4 weeks of this new system. PLUS he's gonna have to get used to playing off the bench when Shaq comes back...

Originally when Shaq was out we started JO, the games when both O'Neals were out and before Perk got back we started Semih.  Baby started 9/10 of his games subbing for KG, and I think the other (only) game where he started at C was when we only had 8 guys and the big rotation consisted of Baby, KG, and Chris Johnson.

Also in those games with Baby manning the paint with Shaq or Semih the interior defense wasn't exactly that strong.  And do you remember what he did to the offense?  When he decided he was suddenly a better jump shooter than Paul and Ray and lead the team in FGA in at least 6 or 7 of those 9 games?  And don't forget that he was averaging like 3 or 4 boards in about 38 minutes, or the dreaded loss in Chicago where he went 4-17.  OR the game (i think it was NO) where down 3 in the final possessions he hoisted a trey with time left on the shot clock?

You can probably tell I'm not the biggest fan of starter Baby (unless it's the 2009 playoffs and he's hitting buzzer beating game winners, dropping KG-level F-bombs, and then knocking over little kids).

Let me know when KG starts playing defense as he should and I consider the complaints against Krstic. Hard to take critiques for Krstic's defensive liability when KG has been laying an egg quite often, particularly to start games.

And to be honest, most of these scores you guys talk about come about when Krstic isn't even guarding the players because he has stepped out to help on the perimeter to stop a drive and such.

Biggest problem for me is the team defense not making the proper rotations rather than looking down the box score and seeing some PF/C having a good game and start playing the blame game.
