Lol and most of you guys don't think he's an NBA player he was just here at the wrong time I can see him being solid in Cleveland he can be Hickson's backup averaging around 10-12 ppg IMO

I never said he was not an NBA player.  But he is most definitely a tweener.  BTW, we still have Glenn Davis who is a tweener IMHO.  Of course, Powe didn't do well Danny let him go, if he thought he would do well he'd have kept him.   He definitely was here are the wrong time, Throwedoff, we'd kept him if we were in a rebuilding mode for instance.  But as it was he was a practive body here for all definite purposes.

This is one game, dude, let's see how he pans out in the long run.  Would not be hard to be a backup in CLE as they are devoid of talent.   He probably has picked up on some good professional habits here that will serve him well there.   I would rather learn from Paul, Ray and Kevin than J.J. Hickson.

The kid can shoot which places him far ahead of a lot of Cavs right there.

Powe's story begins and ends with his knee surgeries, IMO.

Good for Luke, Im happy he had a game like this, But for some reason i just dont see him sticking around the NBA for a long period of time.

He has enough offensive talent to make it on a team. However it really depends on finding a team where he would be the perfect fit.

It would take some luck but I think he could stick around...

The thing about Luke is he will work his butt off to make himself a player. He had a great work ethic at ND and he spent a 1/2 of a season with KG and Ray Allen so I'm sure he's taken his work habits up a notch. He'll never be a good defender but don't count him out as a decent player. Just three 3 years ago he couldn't shoot beyond about 12 feet; now he is a pretty decent 3 PT shooter.

I can't see Luke ever being more than a fill-in starter, but I don't see why he can't kick around the league as something liek a poor-man's Ryan Gomes/rich-man's Brian Scalabrine.  He's shown, at least in the summer league, that he's got 3-point range on his shot, and that he was able to get it off despite its awkward form.  He's not really big enough to be a full-time PF, but he hustles after rebounds enough where he should be able to fill in a bit there.  The question is whether he can play decent enough defense, at least team defense.

The immediate comparison is obvious, so forget that.  If Gody can play team D as well as Scal (meaning, good enough to not kill the team when he's on the floor), how is he not Scal II?  OK jump shot, a guy who's always going to hustle in practice, kind of able to fill in at a couple positions.

So I think Luke *can* find a niche in the league...  but the Euro leagues and D-League and Chinese leagues and every other non-NBA league is filled with guys like this, too.  There's absolutely an element of luck in terms of which fringe players like this make it, and which do not.

Good for Luke.  He should be able to stick in this league.  I see him as the next Ryan Gomes, who in turn I used to compare to Corliss Williamson: Frontcourt glue guys with high BBIQ, slightly undersized but can bang down low or step outside for the jumper and simply hard workers.

I always looked at Williamson as the next Weatherspoon.

Way to go, Gody. Good luck in Cleveland.

LOL ACF - Father bears resemblance to Shaquille O'Neal. I might have to pick up Harongody for my fantasy team for these last two weeks :D

Gomes didn't get swatted in the post every time he tried to score down low.

I need to see more before drinking the Kool Aid. Plenty of castoffs have had good games soon after leaving, but ended up being nothing.

Danny sure does have an eye for late-draft talent.  I was watching a NYK game the other day and it seems that Bill Walker gets crunch-time minutes over there.

Good eye, Danny!
Danny seems to like the Moneyball approach in the second round. Get guys who are undervalued.

Yeah, it's not as much an eye for talent as it is drafting players that have proven themselves already and are only slipping due to issues related to surgery, height, weight.  A lot of teams use the second round to draft potential and Danny stays away from this.  I was positive that Danny was going to try and get Dejuan Blair because he fit the mold of what Danny seems to go for in the second round.

For some reason this comparison cracked me up. I can see all those young kids with dreams of the NBA staying late at the gym every day thinking, "You know, if I work hard and get the most out of my talent, some day I will be known as a rich man's Brian Scalabrine, or a poor man's Ryan Gomes!"

Harangody becama the 12th Cavs player to score 18 points or more in a game this season.  (Jeff Green became the Celtics' ninth.)

92 players have scored 18 or more in a game against the Knicks.  67 have done so against the Celtics.
