I know Troy Murphy is different from PJ Brown and Mikki Moore. This thread is not really about comparing the players' skill sets as it is about their situations upon joining the C's. In that respect, there are some similarities among the three. All were "bigs" with a history of having a reliable jumper. All were brought in to bolster the bench and all joined after not playing much or at all during the first part of the season.

PJ is a legend now, but I recall him struggling to find his shot after joining the Cs. I also remember questioning if he had anything left in the tank when he first joined. PJ was able to shake the rust of retirement, however, and seemed to play better as the regular season and playoffs continued. He was obviously a key part in the run to a championship (remember that basket to get us past the Cavs?).

Mikki Moore on the other hand, not so much. He just continued to suck.

I'm really hoping Troy follows PJ's path, because he is really struggling with his jumper right now. So, how do you see Troy turning out? Will he be more of a PJ or Mikki?
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

I think the problem with mikki was not his offense but rather his defense and his fouling rate. think there was a game he fouled out while playing less than 15 mins

Troy will be more like PJ.  But it's really not a fair comparison because Troy and PJ were established players who were starters.  Mikki on the other hand is a career journey man.  You couldn't really expect much out of Mikki as his skills were limited.
