"Celtics coach Doc Rivers indicated that center Shaquille O'Neal is unlikely to be ready for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers as the soon-to-be 39-year-old's right foot is bothering him again. " http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4681376/pratice-notes-shaq-likely-out-wednesday

I suuuuure hope this means we are saving him for a few more games to continue to get healthy.....We will need Shaq.

I think we are just trying to get him as much rest as he needs before the playoffs start. I'm pretty sure this is Shaq's last year, especially if we win a title. With the way Krstic has been playing, as long as Shaq is back for the playoffs, he can take as much time off as he needs.

Just have to be patient. Shaq was there for us earlier this year, and he and JO will be there again.

Personally, I cringed seeing Shaq go off on those scoring binges like he did this year - that one game vs NJ and Brooke Lopez, and he had two other similar games like that this year, too.

I thought to myself - save yourself for the playoffs, big fella.

Well, let's give him more time. It will be worth it. We've rode his broad shoulders a lot so far, and will have to ride them some more here between now and mid-June.
