If we come away with him or Brewer, I'd be happy

We can stop the dreams now. Thornton is going to Golden State. Well that was short-lived  :(

Don't want him, would much rather have Brewer.
Ditto -- a defender of Brewer's ability would be a lot more valuable, depth wise, than a shot-creator like Al Thornton.

Al Thornton would be more an insurance policy for an injury to Jeff Green than someone who can come in and give Boston something different when needed ... which Brewer can do.

I don't hate the idea of Thornton on the Celtics but with other needs more important I am not sure this should be #1 priority. I think that would be another PG. Then a big and if we can't get Brewer then Thornton would be nice.

How many bigs do you want? We now have 5 guys who are at least 6'11", and 4 who are 7' plus.  Who else has that??

Pass. Worse version of Von Wafer. Inefficient scorer and ball-stopper who defends well below his potential and doesn't pass.

Thornton's game has been regressing -- or charitably, has remained stagnant -- since his rookie season.  I don't think we have any need for a one dimensional offensive player who has no outside shot (at least this season).

I think he will go to MIA he has the right mindset - dominate the ball.

As others have said Brewer would be a much better pick up. Word is that Brewer has verbally agreed to becoming a Celtic, but we all know how accurate rumors are.
