I think The Mavericks are the best team in the West. That team has been rolling through the league and if it wasn't for Dirk and Butler's injuries coinciding at the same time this year they would have the best record in the NBA. They Are DEEP!!!
Tyson Chandler - Best Center in West right now (assuming TD and Gasol are PF)
Dirk No Win Ski - Playing like an MVP
Peja Stojackovich - Deadly 3 point shooter and really spaces the floor
Roddy Beabouis - Explosive Scorer
Jason Kidd - Older Version of Rondo. hits threes and is incredibly intelligent
Shawn Marion - Good player still. Plays the Jeff Green Role
Brendan Haywood - Maybe the best backup Center in the NBA
Jason Terry - Simply is the 6th man of the year - basically a starter with the minutes he gets
Then you got guys like Deshawn Stevenson and JJ Barea who can produce and the fact that Caron Butler has said he will be able to come back for the playoffs.
Plus buyout players will go there. Dallas is a great city and Cuban treats his players like royalty.
I think Dallas is the team to beat in the West and for whatever reason are flying under the radar. Gasol can't guard Dirk and neither can Odom. Dallas already beat LA easily and are playing better Defense. SA and Dallas is always a toss up. Besides Boston Vs LA, SA Vs Dal is the best rivalry in the NBA. Lot of history there but I give the edge to Dallas in a series. Dirk is too tough to match up with for Bonner or Mcdyess and Chandler is too active for Duncan.
I think in a series we would beat them but they swept us this year and are only a loss behind us. Homecourt would be big in that series.
