I don't get it.  All the media and the forum talk.  Before the C's run Perk was a foul every 30 seconds, a scowl away from a technical, and an offensive liability who couldn't stay on the court.  Now every one is acting like he should be in the Hall of fame.  He was our weakest asset last year and he thinks he deserves big money.  We have much better big men n the wings and, possibly ones waiting to join. We also have Kristic who can at least shoot.  Don't forget that first championship it was P.J. Brown giving us that burst not Perk.

Danny brought us the championship so leave him alone.  The same thing happens every time Belichick makes a move and it always works out.

I'm I the only one who sees this.  We dominated Miami without Perk people.  Now supposedly we should lose.  I don't get it.

Perk has also always been an injury liability.

This toughness thing is overrated.  It is a team effort that creates good defense and I don't see perk making any all defensive teams.  it is Rondo and Garnett which truly drive the defense.

Yeah, I thought we were better, especially offensively, without Perk.  I thought he should be the backup to Shaq because Perk kills the offense sometimes and with Shaq the Celtics weren't getting off to slow starts as much as with Perk.

I wasn't looking for Perk to be traded though, just to be a backup instead of a starter.  Of course, he had to start with Shaq down, but I was hoping that would change when Shaq returned.
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

I agree completely.

Fans are having a hard time looking at this trade with their head and not their heart.

We have had the one of the best defenses in the league without Perk all year, and he is a liability in many different facets of the game.

How many times was Perk going to get blocked by Derek Fisher and Jameer Nelson, the guy never corrected that problem, ever.  And with 2 injured legs going forward... I think we got rid of him at the right time.

We may have had the best D in the league up til now but will that hold true in the playoffs. Let's not forget the playoffs are much more of a halfcourt game, and more physical too. I think Perk will be sorely missed during those times. I am not syaing it was a good or bad trade as it will take a lot of time to ascertain that but I did like what we had for this year a lot with Perk.

As Danny said yesterday, we already beat all the contenders without Perk.  It's not like we only played the bottom dwellers from OCT-JAN to get our 1st east standing before Perk returned.

So absurd...Since when is Perkins the best player ever, I just heard skip bayless say he was the heart and soul of our team...lol

HE PLAYED IN 11 GAMES THIS YEAR FOR US AND DID NOTHING BUT STAGNATE OUR OFFENSE....obviously people forget that, they think he was some huge part of our record this year...sorry nope...we were better when shaq was healthy, period.
Also when we won the championship we did alot with Posey at the 4 in the playoffs...I dont recall winning since then

We have not seen the Shaq from the beginning of the years since, well, the beginning of the year.

We have not seen the backup C. JO since, well, last season.

For a guy, who is very talented, that backups up one the biggest minutes player on this team in the playoffs.

I really don't like this trade.

We saw Perkins for......11 games
He also got hurt in the finals and in the last game he played for us...after playing just 11 games

So, if that is the case, could the Celtics afford to trade any of the team's C for a backup SF if the title is the goal?

If Shaq was 100% healthy, I wouldn't mind this trade at all.  We do not know if we have a healthy Shaq at this point or not.  Hopefully he's taking a midseason rest and he'll be back and strong for the playoffs.  If not, we are in MAJOR trouble.
