Let's see who they get off the buyout heap.

I really think Danny already has things lined up.  If he didn't, I don't think he gives away Semih and Luke.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Before I thought it was almost a forgone conclusion. I thought we should've been the favorites. No team could take us in 7 I thought not unless the Heat had some type of epiphany. Now I'm not so sure. Before I felt we were sitting at the top of the hill now I think it's up in the air. We are definitely still in the mix though.

I am absurdly nervous. I like this move for the future, but I am nearly sick to my stomach about the prospect of relying on Shaq, Jermaine, KG and Kristic... I just don't see them staying healthy.  :(
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

We have FOUR automatic Hall of Famers
and Rondo, and you have the gall to ask
if this team can win the Championship ?

as long as the bench is perfunctory, yes.

Before the trades, I thought this team had a reasonable shot at winning the title even if Perkins was out for the entire season as long as it wasn't decimated by injuries.

So, yeah, this team can win.

I think we can.  We still have the big four.  Big Baby and Green too add a lot of pop for us off the bench.

I'm... slowly talking myself into the new roster.

The fact is, we went 33-10 without Perkins this year, starting Shaq, JO, or Big Baby at center. 33-10 isn't a fluke.

As it stands right now? No

IF, and that's a very big IF Shaq and JO can play in the playoffs? Perhaps but I have a better chance of going the moon.

Yes -- but very reliant on JO, Shaq and Delonte staying healthy.

I wouldnt say an IF for Shaq...he will play in the playoffs...its been mentioned by Doc that if it was the playoffs then shaq would play. his injury isnt too serious...The celtics looked real good with Shaq in the starting lineup the beginning of the season.

I think it all depends on the buyouts that Danny gets for the bench.

Giving away Erden and Harangody is a move that should scare all other teams. That is the Celtics committing 100% to this season. It looks like they are going to go all in to try to sign anyone worth having who gets bought out. They were also able to do it without wasting money.

boston has won many games without perkins...i have no doubt they will be the last team standing. they match up better now with the heat...which is the challenge.
How so??

not trying to stir up arguments just curious w/ Perk there in the middle his overall defense/help defense is what keeps the Wades and LeBrons out the middle and Dwight and Bynum from taking advantage of us....they will have a field day with Kristic or Murphy makes no sense to me

Kendrick Perkins help defense is most definitely not what keeps the Wades and LeBrons out of the paint. Kendrick Perkins size keeps them out of the paint and Shaquille O'Neal is bigger.

Where this hurts us is the man to man defense against other teams bigs.

LOL Same thing his help defense/size keeps those guys out of the paint

Man to man defense of course at C were losing one of the best in the league
