The day when Jeff Green drops 20+ points and Krstic scores around 12 and the Celtics have Troy Murphy coming off the bench and providing a punch for this team...

I just wonder if the black cloud will lift, and all those who felt the sky had truly fallen will then come around and say this is the greatest move Danny could make...

(Oh, and when Perk still struggles to get up and down the floor and the mighty midget has just went 3-12 from the field...don't forget this too).

I think there is a  serious question as to whether Perk can get up and down the floor AT ALL in the immediate future. MCL damage to his good knee?? Good Luck, Thunder. No sure thing here this year.

You are missing the reason why so many people are "whining". It does not matter how many points they can put up. There's no question that Green and Kristic are major upgrades for the bench offensively. The real concern and the reason why Perk is so valued is for his game on the defensive end. Trading Perk is like giving away the best low post defender in the NBA and an anchor in the Celtics defense. It does not matter how many points the players put up if they can't stop the opponents from scoring or rebounding.

Let's remember how we lost to the Lakers last year. Their size completely dominated us. Getting both O'Neals are supposed to supplement Perk, not to replace him.

When the Celtics start winning with the new guys the trade will grow on me but I will still lament the loss of Perk.

When/if Shaq and O'Neal become healthy and Green is playing well I will start to consider admitting I was wrong.

When/if the Celtics win the title I will apologize to Danny.

Would you have bashed Danny if he didn't make a move, kept Perk and we still didn't win the championship this year?

I hate the tone of this thread; it's basically an "I told you so" thread, without the benefit of hindsight. 

Our rules state:

Do not start threads or make posts for the purpose of "calling out" other posters.  Retrospective threads are fine, "I told you so" threads aimed at making others look bad are not.

Accusing others of "whining" seems to fall into the "calling out" category.  If you'd like to start a more constructive thread, please do so.
