TP the the op for a great post.

Though I think of KG as a trash talkin', harsh kind of person, and capable of being dirty at times, I am truly glad he's on the Celtics.

One thing not often pointed out about KG is how he inspires the other players on his team. He is so intense about the game that it really rubs off on everyone. He has driven his players to improve and be their best and won't settle for anything less. He is helpful and willing to spend time teaching good moves and a winning attitude. If KG wasn't here, the whole attitude of the team would be different. He brings the winning fire.

One last thing, I guarantee that these clips will not be shown on any of ESPN's shows, but if those guys had all been saying negative things, it for sure would be on first take and around the horn or whatever. They just love painting him in a negative light.

This is quite easy to explain.  Not many people seem to pay much attention to it, which, I find to be strange.

KG is not very open with the media.  Never has been.  He isn't antagonistic, but, being a private person doesn't sit well with a vast number of media types.  It makes ther job more difficult.  I say too bad, but that's just my opinion.

I love KG always have, I love his intensity his intangibles and his vocal leadership on defense with breeds more communication on defense.
But for a man his age he should be able to carry himself with a little more dignity.
I dont care about the trash talking or the blocking shots that are thrown up during a dead ball time.
I dont like the cheap shots he give every now and again.
Just because someone wont comprimise their integrity and ok his cheap shot antics does not make us haters, it just means we still have our principles intact.
I love KG and love having him on our team, I just dont like his cheap shots, they are counter productive.

You are talking about 'integrity' and 'dignity' and 'principles' in a NBA SPORTS GAME. He is not comprimising anything while on the court. Judge the man for these things OFF the court.

No I think I will judge him while playing just like I do every other player most of which carry themselves very well most of the time.
Im sorry you and I have different opinions on this subject, I guess you might just have to get used to the idea that not everybody thinks like you do, thank god!

you can add Tyson Chandler to the list:
"I love [KG], I love what he does," said Chandler. "I look at it this way: He gives you his heart and soul every single night out there, and if it takes him to pump himself up and do whatever he has to do, I'll take that rather than him collecting a check and not giving you a great effort. That's the other side of it -- the guys you feel like are not giving you as much as they can. So I'll take him screaming and talking and pumping his chest and doing whatever it takes you to do to give what you got. I've admired him and looked up to him before my career started."

Most people can tell the difference between on court and off court behavior. Thank God!

You don't watch alot of sports or don't pay close enough attention if you think most players are well behaved at all times. I have said this before the NBA is not a presidential dinner!

a lot of it is just over-hype in the press. He is really not as bad as he gets portrayed.
you want a player who is usually in trouble.. look at rasheed wallace's career.

I agree. You put most players under a microscope you will find something they did that you don't like.

TP to OP.

Part of the problem may be young guys like Noah wanting to get a pat on the back from their idol.

I am fine with KG's lack of 'dignity' since holding back would have changed his game. You have to take him as a total package. Off the court in front of reporters, KG is one of the most dignified players in the league.

What annoys me is fans who get indignant about players on other teams doing the things the KG also tries to get away with, yet they do not call out KG. But I can respect those who do not care for such behavior from KG or from anyone else. But testing the limits of what the refs will let you get away with gives you an advantage.

I think dmopower was talking about KG's on-court behavior, not his off-court, if I read it right.

And he said he still loves KG on our team.

I've been bothered by some of the things he's done this season, and have talked about it, yet feel the same way and am glad he's with us.

He was talking about on court behavior. I  think 'dignity' and 'integrity' are not words most would describe NBA players or many sports figures while they are playing their game.

I would. Or "dignity and integrity" to the game.

Better watch some sport like Golf then. Dignity and integrity to the game can still be done if the players are not squeeky clean. Otherwise I guess the 80s and before were a disgrace because they allowed alot more roughness to take place.
