Perk goes to the high bidder danny signs greg oden for a song.  He regains his health and dominate form and we win 5 titles in a row.
a round of green kool aid for everyone!

Haha.  Unfortunately, Portland seems pretty set on giving Oden an $8 million qualifying offer next year.

An S&T to Portland for Oden would be possible.  I doubt DA would touch that, but it would be possible.

I hope Perk doesn't get too greedy, and leaves some room for this team to fill out the roster in 2012.

In this wonky market for players I'd guess Perk's services could go for $10-12 million but that's just a guess.

That's probably would he'll end up getting. Just hope someone doesn't try and overpay for him.
Perk is a defensive specialist center. These don't crack $10 million. Marcus Camby is getting 8-9 million per year, which is probably the max Perk will get offered. That is, if there is a team with cap space that's interested in him.

Tyson Chandler, Sammy Dalembert, Joakim Noah, Ben Wallace all are defensive specialist centers who got over $10 million per year.

His skill value is about 7.5 million a year, but I think he'll command a little more than that unfortunately.

Perkins said. "You talking four years, $30 million! Shoot, that's different. That's a big difference."

Tommorow write up the contract for 4years and 30 and thank him for services rendered. If he can be happy with that then we should give it to him right away. Like many previous posters mentioned the market would dicate alot more.

You mean, fortunately.

I think Danny/ownership get a little ridiculous with their lowball offers at times. 4/22 isn't even the MLE!  Jermaine O'Neal got offered more per year despite a far more sordid injury history and a historically bad showing vs. Perk in the playoffs. And he was coming "cheap" because he'd made bazillions on his previous contract.  This contract would barely constitute a raise over the extension he got off his rookie deal.
