I know some predicted that the Bulls would be a team to watch, but you have to give cred to Tom for the job he has done thus far.  Started the season without Boozer, and then Noah went down.  Rose is a stud, but props to Thibs as coach of the year through the half way point of the season.

Of course a case could be made for Popovich, but he relies more on veterans, while Thibodeau is coaching a young team.

Thibs is certainly a worthy candidate for the award.

I think Monty Williams has done a fantastic job in New Orleans too. Promising young head coach.

Rick Carlisle in Dallas also. They were maxing out their talent before Dirk went down. Playing very good basketball.

Plus, Nate McMillan has done fantastically well in the face of all of those injuries Portland has had to battle.

Finally, I'd also add Doc Rivers (along with Popovich) to the mix. They have done excellent jobs this season too.

Thibodeau's challenge is going to be not getting Scott Skiles Syndrome where players burn out after a short time.

I think having a player like Noah on the roster....Who is essentially the Bull's Garnett.... is critical to a guy like Thibodeau.  Because NBA players, as a whole, don't put a lot of emphasis on defense.

Lots of candidates at this stage of the season.

I think Thibs should git it as things look now.

I will say this, Doc should be in the running too. Boston is the top of the east and have had health problems for just about every game. He's done a great job getting wins without key people sometimes.

Thibs or Pops.

Both have done fantastic jobs.  Thib's performance so far has exceeded my expectations.
