In the Peja thread, jdub posted a bos/sac trade idea involving JO/Luke/Shrek/Donkey to Sacramento and Landry, JT and Udrih to Boston.

I liked it a lot, but JO's 2 years are a big pill to swallow or buyout.

A slightly worse idea, but maybe more attractive to Sacramento, could be this:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4gnu4nc

Casspi/Udrih/JT to Boston and Luke/Wafer/Shrek/Donkey to Sacramento.

It would be a little risky because of losing BBD and Nate (who is defending very well), but JT and Casspi can play the 4. Udrih is a very good guard, and Casspi is a tough guy. They all expire in the KG summer, so it works under DA's rules.

Sacramento would save money, but maybe a first rounder or two second rounders would be needed to make it happen. IMO, it could be great for Boston longterm, and also could work out very well this season.

what do you think?

I don't see why Sac makes either of the proposed deals.  They're getting the short end of the stick talent-wise each time.

TP. I agree that Sac should be our target trade partner. They have talented pieces that won't be resigning their or they don't want to pay for.
But I also agree with another poster that we need and they should add Landry in the trade and we give them Quis.

This also makes JO expendable either before the deadline or next year since he'll always have crappy knees.
Udrih and West share PG/SG roles. We could keep Wafer and trade Bradley so Wafer can play more SG(see if he continues to improve) Casspi becomes the main back SF, with Landry playing PF next to Shaq. Our bench would be sick, and I feel Landry would stay knowing KG is either done this year or next.

Future 5 - Rondo,Wafer,Casspi,Landry,Perk - add in a perennial allstar G/F and we're back in the run
Can't stop, Rondo!

TP back at you. I guess the future would be more like Rondo,AllStar SG + Quality starter SF, Thompson, Perk.

Landry will likely be seeking more than MLE money in Free Agency, the Celtics will find a backup PF for less salary. He would be great half season rental, and he is a better replacement for BBD this year.

Casspi could be a quality starter or 6th man, he is a tough player and made me mad when he played against ACB teams in Euroleague. Not sure he will be that good, but he has a good chance.

Udrih would be a solid backup and might be great alongside Delonte. Next season he'll be a nice expiring contract if trading chips are needed.

I don't know if the Kings would bite, maybe money savings and the picks from the Celtics are not enough to entice them. You may be right, slamtheking, but anyways, the Celtics don't need to make any of these trades. The current roster is talented and I think Nate/Glenn/Quis are very good bench players.

Any of these three trade ideas would make the Celtics better in the long run, without weakening the current chances at #18. Udrih is a very solid addition to backcourt, Casspi can play the 3 and the 4 and knock down 3's, Landry would be the best player in the trade and J Thompson is a young post player that could be an All Star one day. It's not my money, but I'd take the risk with Udrih/Casspi/JT for BBD/Nate/Von/Luke. I'm just a fan and luckily for the C's, DA is in charge, and not me  ;)

The is idea of saving money is good...but sounds kind of risky!!! and no such positive opinion here??
