Mayo is obviously struggling at everything right now in Memphis having lost his job to Henry and getting benched for fighting with TA, to then have TA go off in replacement of him. However, with all our vets here I think we could make him fit and rebuild his character a bit and keep him in check. Mayo would be a great piece for the future to play with Rondo and replace Allen when he decided to hang them up.

Now the only question is do we have enough to make a serious offer for him? Does his recent off-court troubles make him worth less and improve our chances at getting him?

Would something like this work for Memphis?
Memphis gets:
Nate Robinson
1st Round

Boston gets:
OJ Mayo

Would we have to add someone like Avery Bradley? Or is there really no way of a trade happening? We can afford to trade Nate for Mayo because we have Delonte and Marquis who can handle the ball on the second unit.

Just any idea, probably a pipe-dream, but one that I would love.

Right and right. Completely unrealistic, but a good dream.

Can't see Memphis trading Mayo for Nate and the 29th pick in the draft.

Would love to have him, but I think its a pipe tream at best. Plenty of teams with a lot more picks and assets will have plenty of interest in OJ

if Wafer fights Delonte and Mayo fights Allen and we never heard of a beef between Allen and West, then we can assume that Mayo would like to play with Wafer but not Delonte... right?

oh wait, this isn't the WWE, my bad

We're not getting him for Nate Robinson and a first round pick. At that price even I'd be all for trade getting him.

I don't like OJ Mayo he's just not good enough offensively to make up for his glaring weaknesses as an undersized SG. His ceiling to me seems to be Mo Williams. Good sixth man scorer of the bench type.

This.  He would be incredible off our bench but despite some dissapointment in his growth and any issues he has had, he is still very promising and they will get much better offers.

Yeah, I personally think he will be in Chicago very soon.

Good guess.  Not sure what they'd give up exactly and what Memphis would want but in theory he'd be a nice addition.  They either have defensive SG's or ones that purely shoot and he would be their most complete scorer outside of Rose.

I liked Randolph on the Knicks a lot going into the season but he has hardly seen the floor.  If that would get it done for New York that's a no brainer and a great addition for them.

CJ Watson and Charlotte's lottery protected 2012 1st rounder for Mayo?

Ugh. He'd be a great fit in Chicago. I don't want him there at all...

But yeah, it's pretty much a pipe dream. Even though Mayo has gone on record saying he'd like to play with Rondo, I don't see Chris Wallace having another "Pau Gasol to LA" type of moment.
