If Bucher did any fact checking, he'd know its impossible. Lakers are locked in with this core until after 2014. Dwight FA is in 2012. Other option is a trade. Better chance I win the lottery than Dwight being traded to the Lakers.

I mean this is just flat out incorrect. Unlikely, yes. Impossible, definitely not. Better chance you win the lottery? Nope.

In 2004, what were the chances we got KG and Ray by 2007?

Yep.

At that point, they were both going to LA.

Impossible was the wrong choice of wording. Crazier things have happened. Timberwolves and the Supersonics at that time were heading in different direction. Trading Garnett and Ray Allen was the right move. As far as Dwight going to LA, How in the world is that possible? Orlando won't be trading their cash cow, and the Lakers are over the cap another 3 years (2014). Yep, its impossible.

Minnesota was in the WCF in 2004. Seattle was in in the 2nd round in 2005.

Impossible? A foolish statement.

Foolish is going back 3 years prior. The trades happened in 2007. In 2007 Timberwolves were a lottery team, and so were the SuperSonics. Kevin Garnett & Ray Allen two aging superstars on terrible team. The only course of action was to trade them both. Dwight Howard doesn't face the same predicament.

Yeah cuz we are saying Dwight is going to the Lakers this year....Try to follow a logical argument. The Magic are good now. The Timberwolves were good then. A few years later they werent and KG got traded. Same could happen to Magic. Its really not complicated. Foolish describes more than just youre argument and misunderstanding of the word impossible.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Bucher says (off hoopshype.com) that if the magic don't win a title Howard wants to sign with the Lakers. There go our hopes of pairing him with Rondo. Would the Lakers even have the cap space?

This my friend is beyond jumping the gun..it is jumping the gun, getting in a car, and also finishing the race.

Dwight Howard to Orlando is as much or more of a pipedream than LeBron to NY.

Wait and see how this plays out. At some point, LA is going to need to completely re-tool (2013ish or so I imagine) and the guys that are just beating up on the Magic (Celtics, Lakers) are going to get worse in the next 3 years. Dwight might stay, might go, might go to LA, might go to Brooklyn. Who knows? Maybe he'll go pair up with Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon on the Clippers after Baron Davis's contract runs out.

Eric Bledsoe
Eric Gordon
Al-Farouq Aminu
Blake Griffin
Dwight Howard

that's a fearsome 5 right there.

I have no fear based on what I've seen from the fearsome four of Bledsoe, gordon, aminu, and griffin this year. Griffin paired with Howard is nice, not with those other pieces around them however.

I was more thinking in 2 or 3 years.

Eric Gordon right now is one of the more dangerous 2 guards in the league, probably supplanting Brandon Roy for top 5 in the Western Conference (until Roy gets his knee straightened out).

I mean, who are the better 2 guards in the West? Beyond Kobe and Ginobli, its up in the air. Kevin Martin? He's playing better..Monta Ellis I guess you give the nod.

So Kobe, Monta, and Ginobli (not in that order).

Eric Bledsoe, who is still learning the position, was averaging 9 pts, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 TO's on 46% shooting in 30 mins or so (rounded numbers), compare that to Rondo's numbers (only in games he started) in 06-07.

Bledsoe: 9 pts, 6 assiss, 4 boards, 3 TO's, 46% shooting, 30 mins

Rondo: 11 pts, 6 assists, 5.5 boards, 2 TO's, 47% shooting, 35 mins

Bledsoe could be really good.

Admittedly though I know nothing about Aminu. I do know however that he's 6'9, super athletic, and he's getting over 48% from deep right now.

Bledsoe, Gordon, Aminu, Griffin, and Dwight Howard is a possible, even probable contending team for years if they got together early and stayed together.

The better example is how LA got Gasol for a bag of chips literally lol
