No -- only way to get Melo is to put Rajon Rondo on the table.
If we got Ty Lawson in return....and the whole rest of their farm too...maaayyybbee I think about it

Actually I'm not so sure....if Melo said he's not signing unless he goes to NY then I don't think they're in much of a position to demand that much.

And I'm not too excited about him going to NY if he could possibly come here.

How does that compare to Favor, two draft picks and cap space?

Favors could be the big difference that may sway Denver to pull the trigger in NJ's favor but he only offers a PF position to be effective. Perk is a proven big while BBD has already shown efficiency at the PF. We may also offer picks. Lastly, the trade works under realgm Trade ID #5779617. Melo going to NJ is so iffy since he wont get a title-contending team even if some of his teammates like Harrington goes with him there. Melo staying with us is highly likely to happen because he stays in the limelight and gives us a better peak for our future.

Favors is a potential star.

The Celtics are offering one starter and two good reserves.

I think you mean, "was a potential star."  He "is" quite dreadful to date.
I think Favors has looked pretty good. He's raw but he's shown excellent rebounding, athleticism, and he's been efficient with his shot attempts.

His defense is very bad most of the time, but that's not unusual for a young big man by any stretch.
