I don't want a guy with a sprained ankle and a iffy hamstring on the bench. Stay home and rest when not working out for rehab.
TP...exactly....elevation with foot injuries is especially critical,especially within the first 3-4 days, but even thereafter.....because of gravity and lack of muscle use to squeeze the blood back up, it pools and doesn't circulate efficiently....It's that efficient circulation achieved by elevation that keeps the swelling down and allows the injured tissue to be nourished by the blood to heal more quickly..He was just being smart and listening to the Docs.
