I listened to it, and the interviewers response is very reasonable. It isn't a gossip network.

I have a problem with ESPN's coverage of a player when its talking heads won't even allow for discussion of the possibility that a player committed a foul/crime/error in judgment because that player is the most perfectest person ever and everyone should worship him and root for him.

I don't have a problem with ESPN shutting down unsubstantiated rumors about players' family members' sex lives.

Besides, those jokes hurt Delonte at least as much as they hurt LeBron. And I feel like poor Delonte has enough to overcome with things that actually happened (injuries, legal trouble, mental illness) without having the world claiming that he's a bad teammate who will kill team chemistry by sleeping with his teammates' mothers.

I have to admit they sorta do that a lot on that show making many references to being a morning tv show....although Skip Bayless isn't exactly Mr. Sunshine

I wouldn't want people talking about Larry Bird's mom or whatever. Plus Lebron's mom was a single mom that raised him herself. It's a teeny tiny bit different than other stuff. I mean we definitely get to get a chuckle out of it, but we can't expect tv anchors to discuss it

I didn't mind that lebron went to miami but I have a problem with how he did it. I know this is old but you don't make a  30 min special or where you want to go. i mean seriously? i would be upset if i was in Cleavland being hung out to dry not knowing what the heck is going on.

Mom's should be off limits unless they are spouting off, IMHO.  Still ESPN shelters LeBron and promotes him endlessly as the next great thing.  Great things win championships and shoot more than .44% from the field, which he does neither.  Instead of the king, they ought to call him Hyped James. 

I get my scores from ESPN but I don't take their marketing styled "news" seriously.   Their talking heads are some of the most controversial because they know it gets ratings.  Cowturd is a great example of this fact.

We have the same rule on this site, which is why we locked the 683 Delonte/Lebron threads.  Rumor-mongering like that is best left for TMZ.

There are plenty of gossip sites out there that have featured the names of Celtics (including Rondo's recently).  They're pretty much universally garbage, and there's no need to legitimize them on either CB or ESPN.
