Reggie, Bernard King, Mullin, and the Worm are the most likely nominations for this year, but I’d like to take this time to ALSO put forward a pretty huge omission…

Let’s discuss all this

I'd go with all of the above, plus JoJo, Artis Gilmore, and Spencer Haywood, among others.  I'd also vote for Mel Daniels, George McGinnis and Sidney Moncrief, I think.

Anything to get more players in the Hall of Fame. Currently if you look at it you'd think that coaches are what make the game great.

Dennis Rodman was the only guy I ever saw defend Shaq one on one straight up in Shaq's prime. It was amazing and taught me a lot about defense.

Yeah, very few guys can be a shutdown player at all three front court positions.  McHale could also do it...  The rest of others who could is very, very short.

Dennis Rodman.  Second best defensive player ever.  The guy deserves more credit.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm a huge Bernard King fan and he totally deserves to be in the hall of the fame.

I think Miller & Rodman should definitely get in too. No brainers to me.  Moncrief is a old school binky of mine.  Too young to remember his prime but love his highlights and what he brought to the table.  I would love to see him get in.

I agree that Sidney Moncrief deserve to get in.He never seem to get his due now and when he was a player.I remember him well and he was one of the best. His name never circulate in the media when they are talking old school.A lot of today's media are not old enough to know who was special besides the usual suspects...TP for the memories.

How good do those Bulls teams look if The HOF inducts Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman in three straight years?

Rodman - greatest modern defender and rebounder.  Also likely to give the most entertaining speech, possibly with GoDaddy.com henna tattooed on his forehead or something.  Should be a gimme but his character may lead to a quasi-boycott against letting him in on his first ballot.

Miller is also a gimme - never a true great but an excellent player for a long, long time.  He gets in.

King is the anti-Miller because he had a tremendous, but very short, peak.  I think he'll get in but maybe not this year.

Mullin is tough.  Very, very good player, but never a true great and lost some big chunks of games due to injury and alcoholism.  His peak was arguably worse than Miller's (#s are inflated somewhat from the GS system) and definitely a lot shorter.  He is widely respected though, so he'll probably find his way in one way or another.

Moncrief is a good call.  was the primary stud on those Bucks teams in the 80's that were just a step below the C's and Sixers.  Great player that is constantly overlooked.

I think his first year of eligibility was last year.  This is actually his second year of eligibility, I believe.  (I would have thought he'd be eligible long ago since he hasn't played in the NBA since 2000, but apparently playing for the Long Beach Jam in '04 delayed his eligibility.)

I was curious about this so I looked it up - since it's not the NBA HOF, the 5 years didn't start til he finished playing in any league.  It looks like there was confusion for years about when he was eligible but he last played in 06, so this is his first ballot:

But this is written by Isiah Thomas' son, so there's probably something wrong with it.
